Well it seems Tamiya have a replacement for the mighty TA05 in the wings. Unsurprisingly called the TA06 it looks to be quite a big departure from the previous car.

Bearing a similarity with the FF03 chassis it seems that Tamiya has gone for a design which puts the weight down the centre of the chassis and has sacrificed some drivetrain efficiency.

If you look closely at the image it seems to have an offset belt system, the battery will have to be placed in the car from underneath, although it seems lipo ready which is a good call.

The front shock layout is even flatter than the TA05-ifs I'm not the biggest fan of this style of suspension and it's telling that my TRF417 doesn't have lay down shocks... However I am sure the design gurus at Tamiya know what they are doing.

If these pics turns out to be true then it will be the end of Tamiyas best onroad club chassis of all time. The TA05 can still hold it's own at club level so this car will have a lot to live up to.

More info as and when I get it.
