Ronald Volker has finally taken the Worlds championship that he has been so close to achieving for the last few events.

Ronald qualified in second place behind Bruno Coelho taking the Q1 spot. With Bruno taking the A1 win, things all changed as the weather and wind picked up and he found it harder to keep his X-Ray dialed.

Ronald took the win in A2 and then in the final showdown there was a lot of drama as Ronald took the lead after a mistake from Coelho and then loosing it as Coelho knocked him out in the chicane. After a short while a coming together with Rheinard and Coelho would lead to Ronald taking the lead yet again and this time he held on to the end to take his world championship.
An emotional result for Yukijiro Umino
Congratulations to Ronal Volker and also Yukijiro Umino, his mechanic who has been so instrumental in helping him over the last few years.

Closer look at the BD8 Prototype

Ronald won the event with the new BD8 Car here are some pictures from RedRC.

As you can see there are two large changes. The motor mount and spur assembly has been changed to bring the motor in closer, with both the belts now on the left of the car not either side of the spur gear.

ARS is another feature, and one that was used to help Ronald have more grip and rear traction in Beijing.

There are other new parts such as new C-Hubs and uprights and the lower plate has had the flex points changed.
