RugRacers 2017-2018 Round 4

This round was dedicated to the memory of Andrew Simpson (Chewie), Andrew was sadly taken in a car accident last week at just 29, far too young, our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the family if you still wish to make a donation please get in touch via our Facebook page.

Zak Finlay of Xray now has 1 hand on the title 13.5 blinky title after wrapping up Round 4 with FTQ & both Leg final wins, it may not of been as straightforward but for the intense battle taking place for 2^nd place between Billy Fletcher (Awesomatix) & Paul Pinkney (Schumacher), however with a challenging track rewarding the least mistakes Zak was able to increase the gap, Ashley Wiffen driving the Awesomatix able to capitalise on the battle and take 3^rd overall.  Zak only needs FTQ or a leg win over the final 2 rounds to confirm the title.

GT12 class leader Owen Smith endured a tough day with fierce competition from Mark Parnell lining up on pole with his last run for FTQ, both drivers suffered damage in Leg 1 leaving young Daniel Robins up from 4^th to take victory from Chris Wilkinson.  Leg 2 went to Mark, Owen 2^nd Chris 3^rd with Daniel retiring from the running.

3rd, Nick Upton. 1st, Chris Wilkinson. 2nd, Michael Hull.

Tamiya Trucks, Malc hall was close enough to take advantage when pole man Tom Hampson was collected by a marshal meaning a fightback to 2^nd with Alan Chipolina banking 3^rd.  Leg 2 went Malc Hall’s way as well, Hampo fighting against a resilient Adam Southgate unable to find a way through with Adam finishing 2^nd in Leg, Tom taking the podium ahead of Adam by a faster Leg 1 time.

As is customary for the Truck class the Mutha Trucka & Little Trucka awards went to Adam Southgate & Tamsin Southall.
