Had to get my very broken Stock car working for today's championship race. Didn't have a particularly good day though. I had rebuilt the chassis and reworked the suspension. However the speed and ferocity of  racing these cars soon shows up any weakpoints.

  • First race my suspension rod worked loose, making the car thrash about (so I had to retire, even though I was 2nd at the time).
  • Second Race race the rear motor pod came loose, which was a nightmare as the car would be ok on some laps and other laps would vearing off to the left.. had to retire.
  • Third race the newly soldered Deans plugs decided to pop off.. GAH!!!!

Thats why you always need a shakedown when you dissemble a car.. Still I have to admit I'm starting to enjoy it again :)

However the day was really enjoyable as my lad was racing his banger. Obviously the Dad in me means I spent much longer ensuring his car would be sound for the days racing and indeed it was. He also rewarded me with beating his personal best record, and proving that even a 6 year old can have fun and race RC cars..
