Here is the first official picture of the new Tamiya beginners rc chassis which is as yet unnamed.
It is a 2.4ghz rear drive buggy with 4 wheel strut suspension (So potentially better handling than a Grasshopper out of the box)
The car can run of four AA batteries, but it is able to take a 7.2V source to give more speed as the driver develops their skills.
The car is powered by a 370 type motor and it uses a 1/10 scale servo for the steering, a good move as this will be something that people may want to replace.
The only pic available is for the chassis, the shell is going to be designed my Mr Kota Nezu the well renowned car designer who has previously designed some mini 4WD shells. The chassis is around 1/10 scale so the body could also fit on some other Tamiya models in the future.
Hopefully this will still be a kit of sorts as that is one of the special things about Tamiya RC cars but I am personally interested in this as it could be a great car to race in the office at lunchtime.. ;)
