Today I received a test report from David Joos, who purchased a set of the low profile towers.
David's roll is mechanic and his son Florian is the driver. The parts arrived and they took the TRF419 out for a track test to see if they benefited from the low profile towers. They also wanted to share any set-up tweaks that they made. Here is the report:
We went to our local medium grip carpet track in Dessel, Belgium to test some things, including the new low profile damper mounts.
When Florian, my son and driver, made some fast consecutive laps, he came in to install the low profile damper mounts. With the Stock set-up, his best lap was 11.664 sec
We used these settings:
I used the Tamiya 42291 TRF mini big bore shocks with the same Yokomo blue springs and 400wt oil.
He later improved his times with these changes.
We went to our local medium grip carpet track in Dessel, Belgium to test some things, including the new low profile damper mounts.
We used these settings:
- Much more Fleta stock esc
- Much more 13.5 0 timing motor
- Gear ratio 5.00
- Sorex 32 tyres
- 400wt oil
- Yokomo blue
- Ride height 5-5.2mm
- 0.5 spacers on wheels
- 5000wt oil in rear diff
- 3 holes in the dampers
When I installed the Low profile shock towers, I just saw the car had much more initial turn in and more corner speed. Florian managed to lower his time to 11.411sec just with the damper mounts.
