With the impending Iconic Cup Round 1 only a few days away I have been busy digging out my old TRF415 MS and giving it a quick 2016 update to make my life a little easier.

The original TRF415MS was released in 2005 and was an update of the phenomenal TRF415. The biggest update was the inclusion of the Lightweight suspension parts that replaced the strong TRF414 arms that were still being used on the 415.

The car came with centre and font one-ways as was de rigueur with top level cars of that age.
The 415 is one of my favourite chassis
Over the years things changed and my 415 soon had a direct centre shaft and a front differential mounted. This soon was replaced by a custom spool from Speedtech RC, then eventually I mounted the TRF unit.
This chassis is light and flexible, although very wide compared to modern chassis
Other updates on this chassis was the Jaad racing flex chassis which as you can see is very thin (2mm) and light 77g.
The gear diff needs a few shims to take out the play
The other changes are that I have mounted a TRF gear diff in the rear. They fit fine, you just need to shim the diff.
The direct centre shaft was a godsend, I have mounted 18t pulleys on this one.
The centre pulleys have also been updated to 18t give me an internal ratio the same as the TRF416 (2.055).
Note how the front steering rack has a 3mm shim mounted on it to compensate for the lowered steering
The only other change was that I lowered the steering, the original had the steering 3mm higher. I just changed the spacer on the steering posts to lower it, then added 3mm under the ball nut on the steering rack so I didn't get any bump steer.
Untidy wiring, because I will be swapping motors at the event.
So there you have it. I haven't fitted the Stabilisers yet but they will be mounted in the week, and the motor will be changed (hence the untidy wiring).

I can't wait to race it at west London and will do an update of the event when at the track :).
