Last weekend the excellent Halifax track hosted Round 4 of the BTCC touring car championship. Daniel Booker was racing his TRF419X in the stock 17.5 class.
He was the only Tamiya racer at the event, but he was the class of the field as he TQ'd every round and won the final against some very strong competition.
Check out the video here:
Dan has been running the car for over a month now, whereas I am a carpet racer, he prefers racing outside and he has been refining his outdoor set-up. So here it is.
As you can see there are a few things that are different from the stock set-up.
Raising the top deck gives the car more grip, adding 1 degree of sweep with the E block gives the car a lot more corner speed on the large flowing Halifax circuit. A little more filing needs to be done to stop the belt rubbing. It is exciting to see how Dan does at the next round, and maybe he will go even faster with some of the prototype RCRACER parts for the 419X.
