Another chassis that I have been interested in has been revealed from Tamiya. The Tamiya TT-02RR.
This is essentially the same as the Tamiya TT02R which is a great chassis but has some failings. Primarily the camber adjustment. Well as you can see in the photo above Tamiya has addressed this with new upper arms (Similar to the TT01R). So now you can adjust the camber to help your corner speed. Also oil filled gear differentials!
Here are the key features.
- *New Adjustable Upper Arms
- * Oil-Filled Gear Differential Units Lower
- Deck (Hard/Blue) (47339)
- Alu. Rear Uprights (3.0) (54733)
- Alu. Propeller Joint (54502)
- Alu. Propeller Shaft (54501)
- High Speed Gear Set (68T) (54500)
- Ball Bearing Set (54476)
- 5mm Ball Connectors (50875)
- Metal Drive Shafts & Wheel Axles
- 5mm Alu. Short Ball Nuts (Blue) (53869)
- 5mm Alu. Ball Connectors (Blue) (53642)
- 4mm Anodized Alu. Flange Lock Nuts (Blue) (53159)
- Medium-Narrow Racing Slicks (51049)
- CVA Damper & Spring Set
It will be interesting to see how this chassis handles, and I will endeavour to get my hands on one soon.
TT02 really need longer lower arms than adjustable upper arms. For tt02, I'd rather get a fixed 1 or 2 degree camber with longer lower arms, than adjustable upper arm that has to be even shorter to gain negative camber.
