As with all X upgrades for a TRF chassis, it is about the small incremenatl changes based on results at the track. There are some very nice things that are included. So let's take a look.

The rear stiffener is something that really helps the feel of the TRF421, its still proviing itself with the WeiRC steel chassis conversion for the curent car, so it is good to see Tamiya supplying one with the TRF421X.

The upper arms are now stiffer (Something else we have been after as Tamiya Racers).. Also you can see here how there is the upper arm nut, that allows you to ensure they do not bind if you change the angle of the upper arm.

The front spool cups are also different, they now require an internal spacer, This should stop the slight amount of movement that sometimes can occur with the cups.

The kit set-up also has a higher roll centre with spacers under the upper arms.

The driveshafts now have bearing on them.. ready for a new kind of hell when you try to fit them with those tiny e-clips.. although there are some tools available to help fit those..

The TRF421X also has revised knucle arms. the inner hole is the same postition as before, but the outter hole is further out and also slightly more forward. I hope they are a little thicker to avoid them twisting.

The shock pistons now have larger 1.2mm holes. This is a mod that most of us TRF drivers have been doing.

The TRF421X has both single and split decks included. A big change is that the flex is able to be tweaked with both the step screw that we used on the TRF421, and with a new flat head screw that has a 2.7mm spacer.

Here you can see the selection of stiffener settings available for the TRF421X

The revised carbon upper bumper mount is also included. Allowing a more front end flex.

The rear carbon body mount has been changed to allow different witdths.

The kit also has fan mount that can hold the reciever. It looks like it is raised to help flex.

Here you can see the front tower, note how much shorter it is. There is a cutout to stop the damper rubbing against it.

The TRF421X also comes with a range of weights, many that were with the TRF421, but also this lovely TRF battery weight..

Lots of exciting new parts, I cannot wait to get mine and give it a run.. Expect a detailed build review at some point..
