Tamiya TRF421 / TRF421X and TRF421RCR Carbon arms available.
TRF421 Steering arms
I've been running these for a long time on my TRF421. These have the same geometry as the original TRF421 steering arms. The UK TRF racers have been using versions of these for some time. We found that the kit ones would have a habit of bending on hard impacts when racing indoors, so we created some made from 2.5mm carbon fibre.
TRF421X Steering arms
These are ready to go on any TRF421X or TRF421. They follow the same geometry, but are made from carbon so have a slightly different feel. They also don't bend (Although the new TRF421X arms are stronger, so this may be less of an issue.. time will tell).TRF421 RCR Steering arms
Alongside the standard steering arms, I had been developing a different set to change the steering characteristics. Along the way the TRF421X was released, and it was interesting to see where the Tamiya Racing factory had updated the design. When comparing the TRF421 and 421X arms these are somewhere between them. On our tests we have found these arms actually still perform very well. Back to back we found them faster than the TRF421X arms on both carpet and outdoor tracks. Think of them as more aggressive than the TRF421 arms and less aggressive than the TRF421X arms. (Note this testing has been based on changing the front arms, we haven't really bothered with the rear arms.
Dotty time..
Each of the three arms is marked to help differentiate from each other.I graded them from mild (one dot) to extreme (three dots).
