Tamiya Nuremberg Toy Fair 2020 exclusive photos and information

Here is our look at the RC models on the Tamiya stand at the 2020 Toy fair. As you would expect from Tamiya there is a wide range of releases for the wide range of RC enthusiast. More photos may appear later so check back, and we will hopefully have some video from the event itself via our Facebook page (Click Here).

47439 TT-02 Type-SR Chassis Kit

This is the only 'Racey' chassis that is on public display at the show. No TRF's but a great entry level racer. The TT02-SR has a few nice upgrades over the standard Type-S.

It has two unique new parts. The first is a rear adjustable camber mount (You use the bushings from the TRF suspension blocks (Click for our review here). This is a great idea and will add more tuning possibilities over the previous kits 3 deg rear toe.

The second unique part is a flange for the steering assembly.. not the most sexy sounding thing but it reduces slop and adds precision.  Hopefully these parts will be available separately, although at the moment there is not special part number for them. :(

The rest of the kit is very high spec. It has double cardan shafts, essential to spin the locked front differential. the rear has 42mm lightweight universal drive shafts and they spin the oil filled gear differential. Its all housed on the new hard black chassis. If the price is right, this chassis could be very good for a 21.5 class.

47442 Terra Scorcher 2020

The re-release this year is the Tamiya Terra Scorcher. This was a great chassis and handled surprisingly well. This 2020 version has had some modifications to improve the reliability and strength.

57412 1/24 MudMad (SW-01 chassis)

The Lunchbox Mini has been a great success, and the MudMad looks like another fun addition to the chassis line.  This comes with rally block tyres inviting you to get it out on the dirt and gravel.

The Bodyset is also available

58678 Comical Avante (GF-01CB chassis)

I am a big fan of the comical cars and now it is time for the Avante. This time though it is not on the WR-02CB chassis, instead t is placed on the 4WD GF-01CB chassis that was used for the excellent heavy dump truck.  This will ensure it will be a riot to drive. In reality this version of the Avante will be much more reliable than the original, and probably more fun to drive :)

58676 Volvo A60W Hauler 6x6 (G6-01 chassis)

The G6-01 is a great basher, featuring 6WD and with the option to make it 4WS it is kit that is very much unique to Tamiya.

This new version based on the Volvo A60W hauler has a yellow frame. The rest of the chassis is standard.

The cab is painted and pre-cut so easy to assemble. It also have a tipping rear bed, although it is manually operated.

58677 VW Karmann Ghia (M-06L chassis)

It's always good to get more M-Chassis variants and the VW Karmann Ghia is a classic car.

The detail is great. It really looks fantastic.

51635 VW Karmann Ghia Body Parts Set (For M-L chassis)

The body is separately available.

58683 1/14 Mercedes-Benz Tankpool24 (TT-01E)

56362 1/14 Volvo FH16 8x4 Tow Truck

47446 Plasma Edge II Gun Metal (TT-02B chassis)

Its a Plasma Edge II in Gun Metal, also the Grasshopper Candy green is coming back.

58679 Suzuki Swift Sport (M-05L chassis)

47443 Porsche 911 GT1 Street (TA03R-S chassis)

A classic car on a classic chassis. It is good to see the TA03R-S available again. Hopefully it will ensure that there will be new spares for the TA03 as they are getting quite hard to find now.

47433 Toyota Supra Racing (A80) (TT-02 chassis)

Just looks great, I want this shell on my TA05 VDF.

47437 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR 1997 (TT-01E chassis)

A welcome re-release of this great looking body.

47432 Super Clod Buster Black Edition

A classic. It looks great but I would love Tamiya to make a new Monster Truck.

58680 Toyota GAZOO Racing TS050 Hybrid 2019 (F103GT chassis)

This kit comes with the 2018 and 2019 stickers in the box.

58578 Ford Zakspeed Turbo Capri Gr.5 Würth (TT-02 Chassis)

Originally released in 2013, the Capri is back in the best livery :)

54897 Buggy Champ Ball Diff II

A welcome release for retro racers, this will stop the crazy prices on Ebay.

The CC02 has a range of new hop-ups.

12056 1/12 Porsche Turbo RSR Type 934 Vaillant

The classic Tamiya 934 is back. It still looks incredible.. if only they would release the original RC version as well.. although now the shell is available who knows what might happen.

More pics to come.. Some cars are not looking like they will be on show here.
