Here is another new part for the TT02 series. This simple little part saves weight, allows you to run a larger pinion if running a stock class and also saves time when changing the gearing.
Simply remove your TT02 gear cover. You then notice that the screw holes in the chassis are at different heights. You take a 3mm and 2mm spacer to make a 5mm spacer at the front and use a single 3mm spacer at the rear.
Screw down the plate, take your time to seat both of the screws and then tighten it up gently. The carbon stopper will then hold down the prop bearing. I used 3x12mm screws, 3x14mm could also be used and may provide more strength in the long term.
All finished :)
The original TT02 cover comes in at 11.4g.
The new cover comes in at 0.67g. So that gives you over 10g of weight saving without even taking into account that the gear cover uses 2 more screws. Importantly the weight it saves is from the top of the chassis and makes it a little lower.
On the cons it does open up the spur gear, not a problem for onroad racing, although if you want to run it offroad I would just consider running 48dp or the Tamiya 0.6mod if you want to give it a try.
As I mainly run the TT02 onroad, I have had no issues in the few carpark tests that the part has been involved in. (17.5 blinky). So I am happy with this part :)
Next up something a little different... ;)

This is a simple part but was inspired by some of the amazing work Kevin Kreft has done on his TT02 Total conversion, which takes a TT02 and makes it look like an Awesomatix.
I have invested my own time and money in these parts for the Tamiya community, at no profit for myself. These designs are always helped via feedback from other racers. So please let's share feedback and set-ups and I can try to refine or design other parts in the future :)

Overall
Over the standard part on the TT02 / TT02-S you save a good chunk of weight. It also makes changing gearing less of a problem. On the cons it does open up the spur gear, not a problem for onroad racing, although if you want to run it offroad I would just consider running 48dp or the Tamiya 0.6mod if you want to give it a try.

Disclaimer and thanks
These have been made as a contribution to the Tamiya racing community. There is no profit for myself and the parts can be ordered directly via Fibrelyte. These are just a tuning aid, I found them to work well, as has others who have tested parts. Every track / driving style is different so do not expect a golden bullet.

Will not work with standard or 68t hop up spur, not enough clearance. Looks like I'll have to buy some proper gears!
