2023 - A brief round up and new TRF kits for 2024?

2023 has been a bit of a hectic year away from the hobby so unfortunately I didn't make as many updates as I planned to the site or some of the ongoing projects. Having the the site go down and losing some posts (Blockhead Wild one review etc) was gutting.

I did concentrate on what little free time I did have on racing, and that side of things has been fun, albeit I did pay the price for lack of preparation on some events.. However the Tamiya TRF420X has been getting faster and faster. The new SLP towers proved to work well, and the feedback from a dear departed friend was invaluable before his passing.

Next year should be a bit more back to form. Some nice projects to work though.. The Tamiya FF04 update will go ahead as we now have a regular Frontie heat at my local club, and another Tamiya racer wants to compete with his FF04.. so it gives me a bit more of an impetus to sort it out.  Or maybe the FF05 will appear before I sort them out (Cough)

I have a couple of TT02 things that are quite significant.. I have the design sorted, but I just need to work out how they can be cost effective.

The other thing I'm excited about are the new TRF chassis coming in 2024. With it be a TRF420XR conversion kit, or maybe a TRF421? Oh and there might be something coming for those who like verticality in their racing.. we will find out soon enough.

Final thing to say is thanks to all of you that follow the site and contribute towards it and the TRF Onroad group.. Here is to a great 2024!!

  1. Awesome blog and website - incredible body of work here. I wonder if and when the next M-chassis update will come. I have the M07R and it's a wonder - definitely my favourite class to race with our club. Have you raced the M08R on low traction asphalt? I'm itching to try it, but its a lot of money to drop on a whim, especially when I already have the M07R
