What a day! We’re delighted to share the race report from our first large-scale event Carpet Legends – Round 1, held at Stevenage Leisure Centre with our huge 30 × 16 m carpet track, where 90 drivers came out to battle it out.
It was fantastic to see so many keen competitors, the track buzzing with action, and a real championship atmosphere from start to finish. Thanks to every driver, supporter and crew for helping make the day a success.
Highlights from the Double A Finals
MTC
• Final A1: In the first A‐Main, Edmund Peyton‑Marchi took the win, completing 24 laps in 5:11.516 with an average lap of 12.791 s.
Behind him was Ben Pelling (22 laps, 5:02.857) and Malcom Norwood (21 laps, 5:12.366) rounding out the podium.
• Final A2: Edmund Peyton-Marchi again showed strong form to win the second A‐Main, 24 laps in 5:09.166 (avg 12.672 s).
Ben Pelling held 2nd (21 laps, 5:00.425) and Dave Pelling came in 3rd (21 laps, 5:07.565).
Frontie
• Final A1: In this class, Dan Knight drove to victory in the first A‐Main for the Frontie class for A1 (24 laps, 5:07.096, avg 12.593 s).
He edged out Martin Southall who finished 2nd (24 laps, 5:08.998) and Steve Henry 3rd (23 laps, 5:00.788) in that race.
• Final A2: In the second A‐Main, Martin Southall bounced back to take the win (24 laps, 5:10.488, avg 12.767 s).
2nd was Mark Young (23 laps, 5:01.770) and 3rd again was Steve Henry (23 laps, 5:02.699).
Pro Touring (17.5 Blinky)
• Final A1: Mason Weston dominated the first A-Main here: 27 laps in 5:04.296, avg lap 11.126 s.
He was followed by Dale Lusted (27 laps, 5:08.273) and Tom Clements (27 laps, 5:13.061).
• Final A2: Mason Weston again took the win in A2: 27 laps in 5:05.017 (avg 11.132 s).
Stewart Wilcox claimed 2nd (27 laps, 5:08.832) with Tom Clements holding 3rd (27 laps, 5:08.986).
Final Thoughts
What a strong launch for Carpet Legends! The size of the track (30 × 16 m) at Stevenage gave drivers plenty of room to push hard and show their skills. With 90 drivers competing, the energy was electric and the competition fierce. A huge thank-you to everyone for making it such an awesome day.
We hope to see you all back for Round 2 on 11 January 2026, then Round 3 on 15 February 2026, Round 4 on 29 March 2026, and Round 5 on 10 May 2026. Let’s keep the momentum going!
