Carpet season is upon us, and I have been refining my set-up with the Tamiya TRF421. As with all race cars I have been making a few adjustments and swapping parts out over the recent events and here is my current set-up.

Key things to spot.

I'm running the WEIRC aluminium 1.5mm chassis. I have the 1.2mm steel chassis but whilst that is heavier, so good to keep the car flat, I think the stiffer 1.5mm aluminium seems like a good compromise. Although I will try the steel chassis in the new year.

Carbon rod is added and bonded to the arm

I like to run the front arms as per kit (Or slightly stiffer with 1mm carbon rod). The rear I run cut.. This seems like a good base feel. Lots of steering with good rear traction.

0.5mm under the front rear arms. This just stops the car diving when braking hard. I have tried spacers under all arms but I always seem to go back to this set up.

I have reduced the brake settings on my esc to 80%

The ZooRacing Panterra is a very good shell. It is just a little more sharp than the Twister but not as agressive as the Wolverine.  I will still run the wolverine if there is a lot of grip.

Running the front diff high to soften the car, or running the rear diff high to make it rotate more is an easy tweak to the handling. Both are effective and simple if at the track.
