Rugracers XRS Round 4 saw an action packed day of racing across our 3 classes where the close and tough competition was made absolutely clear on a fast but technical track layout through the close times from top to bottom of each field!

Frontie was very close throughout the day where 5th to 8th would be separated by only 7tenths! After four rounds of FTQ qualifying, we would see front-wheel drive national champion Ben Moorey take the TQ spot, closely followed by Adam Southgate and current championship leader, Jamie Hickin. The first leg final saw Ben cruise to a win from pole, followed by Adam and then Ethan from 6th on the grid. The second leg would go on to be more eventful where a brilliant battle between Adam and Ben would undertake for the lead swapping positions every few corners for a few laps! This exciting battle would result in Adam taking the win, followed by Ben and Ethan. With points tied the overall win would go down to the faster runtime which was held by ben, crowing him the overall winner for the day!

th after a close battle for 3rd!  The second leg would see a similar top 2 finish with Andy Murray in 3rd and Rickey Copsey making it through to 4th up from 7th on the grid! This would result in a win for Zak, making him our Rug Racers 23/24 champion with a round to spare, and a board of flawless results, TQing every round and winning every final that he has competed in so far!

Our modified class saw a close, clash of titans as the sharp end of the field with a 4 way battle for TQ which would lead to stock national champion Ollie Payne taking the top spot on the grid, followed by Alex Thurston and Elliott Harper!  This close qualifying battle would lead to two very exciting finals where leg 1 would see a mistake from Ollie and Alex promote Elliott into the lead where he and Alex would sit toe to toe for the majority of the race until Alex unleashed an absolutely brilliant overtake onto Elliot on the last lap to take the win, narrowly ahead of Elliott with Harley taking 3rd. The second leg saw the top four cars sit nose to tail for the full 5minutes which would eventually lead to Ollie Payne taking the leg win just ahead of Alex and Elliott.
